From one humble location in Ballito on the Northern Coast of Kwa Zulu- Natal, Mozambik opened its doors to customers in 2005. Three years later, Mozambik expanded onto the Johannesburg scene, thus marking the beginning of a new journey for Mozambik as a brand.

The Mozambik concept is built on a strong family foundation, where family and friends can enjoy the simplicity of life. The creation of the menu is based on the authentic flavours and experience from Mozambique, a popular holiday destination for South African families. Our flavours are of authentic origin, known as Afro-Porto. Each dish tells a story about the contribution of cultures. Mozambik is the taste of escape, right on your doorstep “no passports required”. 

Mozambik has grown into a beloved restaurant group with twenty- four locations across South Africa and Zambia. In September 2021 Mozambik opened its doors to its first location in Texas, USA. With its booming food scene and multicultural heritage, it only makes sense for Mozambik to start in Houston Texas. It is like South Africa in terms of diversity, sophistication, and the casual come –as-you-are attitude. Bringing our beloved homeland to Houston Texas, is an absolute dream come true.
